5 Quick and Easy Home Projects You Can Complete in 10 Minutes or Less

June 25, 2024 by Rhonda Costa

Do you have a list of home projects you’ve been meaning to tackle? The good news: some of them can be done in just ten minutes! Here are five quick and easy tasks to help you get your home in order almost instantly.

1. Organize Your Kitchen Pantry

Start by tossing out expired items. Next, arrange your shelves by category: snacks, baking supplies, spices, etc. Think of it like your favorite grocery store. This quick task will save you time when cooking or grabbing a midnight snack, and it will prevent any accidental salt-sugar mix-ups.

2. Make Natural Cleaning Products

Why buy when you can DIY? Use common household items to whip up your own cleaning solutions. You’ll save money, reduce waste, and keep your home sparkling clean. Plus, these eco-friendly alternatives are better for the environment.

3. Tidy Up Your Closet

Set a timer for ten minutes and dive into your closet. Sort your clothes by color, type, or function. Group shirts, jackets, sweaters, skirts, pants, and dresses together. This quick organization session will make it easier to find what you need and save you time in the long run.

4. Declutter Your Entryway

Spend ten minutes clearing out your entryway. Put away shoes, hang up coats, and organize any stray items. A tidy entryway creates a welcoming first impression and makes it easier to find what you need as you head out the door.

5. Lubricate Sliding Glass Doors or Windows

If your sliding doors or windows are sticking, grab a silicone lubricant spray. Spritz a cloth with the lubricant and wipe it along the tracks. This simple trick will have your doors and windows gliding smoothly again, making it easier to let in some fresh air.

Ready to get started? Send the kids out to play, step away from the computer, and see how much you can accomplish in just ten minutes!

Keeping A Closet Organized: The Top Tips

September 10, 2021 by Rhonda Costa

Keeping A Closet Organized: The Top TipsHomeowners need to make sure they maximize every square foot of their home. This includes the closet. Many people get frustrated when they look at their closets because they feel like they cannot find what they are looking for. Anyone who is struggling to keep their closet organizers should take a look at a few important points below.

Remove Items That Are No Longer Being Used

The first step in creating more space in a closet is getting rid of items that are no longer being used. First, take a look at all the items on the hangers. Then, see if it has been worn during the past year. If not, it is time to get rid of it. In addition, it might be helpful to remove clothing items that are not in season. Then, store them until the weather changes again. Creating more space in the closet can make it easier to keep the closet organized.

Check The Quality Of The Hangers

Next, take a look at the hangers. It is critical to use the right hangers because the wrong hangers could damage the clothes. Even though it is tempting to keep clothes on hangers that came from the store, they could stretch the clothes out over time, ruining the appearance. Try to use hangers that have pads on them. These softer hangers will not leave impressions on the clothes, extending their lifespan.

Create More Storage In The Closet

Finally, remember that not everything has to go on a hanger. There are some items that can be folded or tucked away in drawers. That is why it might be helpful to invest in alternative storage options in the closet. This could include cubbies that hang from the bottom of the shelf. Or, it might be nice to install drawers at the bottom of the closet. This could be another way to create more storage space and keep the closet organized.

Improve Closet Organization

Ultimately, there are plenty of ways to keep a closet organized. By removing items that are not being used and increasing storage space in the closet, it might be easier to find what is needed. This is a great way to keep the closet clean.

In Less Than An Hour A Day, A Home Can Be Organized Quickly

March 19, 2021 by Rhonda Costa

In Less Than An Hour A Day, A Home Can Be Organized QuicklyOrganizing a home seems like a significant challenge. Fortunately, there are easier ways to make this happen. In less than an hour per day, it is possible to organize a home from top to bottom. Getting these unnecessary items out of the way might even prevent people from stubbing their toes! How can this be possible?

Start Getting Rid Of Unnecessary Items

Start by creating two boxes. The first box should have the word “donate” written on it. The second box should have the “trash” written on it. Then, go through every room in the home. Find items that can be donating. Take them to a local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Remember to get a receipt because these items may be tax-deductible, as long as you work with a trained tax professional.

Then, take items that can be thrown away and place them in the “trash” box. Be prepared to throw these out. This will instantly create more room in the home.

Target The Spice Cabinet

A lot of homes have unnecessary space wasted in the spice cabinet. Think about organizing them alphabetically. Be sure to check if any spices have expired, as they might need to be tossed out. Once the spices are all in the right spot, there will be a lot more space in the kitchen. That way, it will be easier to organize utensils, appliances, plates, bowls, cups, and the pantry itself.

Time To Deal With The Decorations

Once the holidays are over, it is time to organize the decorations. Make sure that each holiday has its own separate box. Then, make sure the boxes stack on top of each other. With a separate box for each holiday, it should be easy to store all the decorations in one place. This will free up a lot of other space in closets, storage areas, and cabinets.

Get The House Organized In An Hour Per Day

Concentrate on each small area, going room by room and “decluttering” as it will create a lot more space in the home, and in sections, it is easier to get everything organized. Ensure that everything has its place. It might even be helpful to write this down somewhere. Even though it might take some time to get used to it, having more open space in the home is never a bad thing!
